Event Coordination

Organizing and hosting a variety of events and activities for veterans and their families, including veteran appreciation events, family picnics, workshops, and social gatherings.

Partnership Building

Establishing partnerships with local organizations, businesses, government agencies, and community groups to expand access to resources and support services for veterans.

Education and Awareness

Raising awareness about the unique challenges and contributions of veterans through educational campaigns, community presentations, and outreach efforts.

Volunteer Opportunities

Providing opportunities for community members to get involved and make a difference through volunteering, fundraising, and advocacy efforts.

Financial Assistance

Providing financial assistance for emergency expenses, such as utility bills, transportation costs, groceries, and other essential needs.

Legal Assistance

Connecting veterans with legal services and resources to address legal issues, including disability claims, benefits appeals, and legal representation.

July 2024:

Our Veteran Business of the month is Lewis Tax Firm

Lewis Tax Firm is owned by William Lewis, who served in the United States Army for 12 years and was deployed to Afghanistan as well as various countries around Africa and the Middle East. He has owned Lewis Tax Firm for 5 years.
 
Lewis Tax Firm is a Tax Law and Accounting Firm based in Jackson, TN. Providing resolutions to an array of tax related issues, Tax Preparation and Planning as well as Accounting, Bookkeeping and Payroll Services are the fundamental services.

William Lewis LEWIS TAX FIRM

June 2024:

Bicycle City in Jackson, TN

Bicycle City is owned by Shawn Riggs, a United States Navy veteran. Riggs purchased the 53-year-old business in 2017. Bicycle City sells and services bikes, trikes, wheelchairs, and more. They are located at 29 North Star Drive, Suite J, in Jackson, TN.

May 2024:

Joe's Barber Shop, Union City TN

Joe’s Barber shop is owned by Joe Johnson, a Vietnam Era Veteran who served in the US Army. During his enlistment, Joe served at Ft. Gordon, Ft Leonard Wood, and served in Vietnam in 1965-1966. Joe has been working as a barber for 54 years. Joe is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1124.

April 2024:

Mercer Brother's Funeral Home, Jackson, TN

Mercer Brother’s Funeral Home, Jackson, TN- Mercer’s Brother’s started in a 2 bedroom house on Hayes street with equal shares going to Ms. Carrie Bell Mercer and her 8 sons.
After the loss of their father, 5 of those sons joined the military to care for their mother and younger siblings. Marvin served in the Air Force, stationed in Germany while Fred and Johnnie served the Army in Korea and Germany, leaving Larry and Luther to serve in Vietnam, both of which also served in the Army.
The funeral home is still run by the Mercer Brothers and can be reached at 731-423-4922.

March 2024:

The Future Group LLC

The Future Group LLC was founded in June 2020 by Frencherry Miller, USMC, Retired. The Future Group LLC is a company dedicated to doing great work at a fair price and obtaining rental properties to house local and transitioning tenants expeditiously. Frencherry is a licensed general contractor. Frencherry is also a minister and hosts an uplifting ministry on Facebook called The Spiritual Hospital
Frencherry resides in Jackson and is active in several veteran organizations.

February 2024:

Serenity Tree Service LLC and Wilkes Lawn Service LLC

Freddie and Rachael Wilkes own and run two businesses: Serenity Tree Service LLC and Wilkes Lawn Service LLC. Freddie served in the US Army for 12 years with three combat tours, and Rachael served for 4 years. They live in Mercer with their children.

January 2024:

West Tennessee Land Management

West Tennessee Land Management is owned by SFC Isaac Billington, a 10 year actively serving member of the Tennessee Army National Guard who has also completed an overseas tour in support of NATO missions. SFC Billington lives in Madison County with his wife, Lauren, and their young son. 
 
West Tennessee Land Management can be called upon for Forestry Mulching, Land Clearing, Building Demo, Ponds, Driveways and more
